Patty sat in the sunroom, her legs crossed as they slung over the side of the chair, and her arms bend inward, her hands clutching a teacup, steam coming out of it. Her dark eyes were focused outside, through the clear glass and into the garden just out of reach. She was listening for nothing, and let her thoughts wander to a place where she wished they would let go of. Did she really belong as a charmed one? She was half demon, for lord's sake! She could shimmer, like Balthasar, her father. And then there was her mother, a great charmed one, a woman the witches of the world looked up to, and all magical creatures saw as heroes. Could she fill that spot? It was certain she was not full pure witch, and not 100% good either. She had evil in her, though she learned to ignore her urges very well. She blinked slowly, thinking. She had good powers too, empathy and animation.

This was a power not many witches had, empathy. It was known to destroy so many lives, but Patty herself had practiced self control, and could put the feelings away, like on shelves, until she needed to feel them. Or control them. But she could also make things come to life, inanimate objects talking and moving about. It was funny, because she would always pretend she could do this as a little girl, and then one day the power came to her, and she could. She often used this power in battle, or something, knowing she would need it if a sword was to be used against them. She could make it come to life, and have it decide for itself, giving them time to get away, or destroy. Either way, she found both powers helpful, despite her fear of growing into a demon power.
